The Mark of Leadership

What I stand for as your candidate :

ECONOMY: A strong economy provides high-paying jobs, supports thriving communities, and funds vital state services.  During these tough economic times the Legislature needs to work TOGETHER to map out a long-range fiscal plan that benefits all Alaskans.

PUBLIC SAFETY:  After 30 years in Alaska law enforcement, I understand the key to creating safer communities is preventing crime.  This includes returning to a defined benefits system that will attract and retain an experienced police force and fire department.  Regardless of political party, the Legislature must work together to combat Alaska's rate of violent crime.

ENERGY: I support both a gas pipeline and alternative energy. I will work with fellow legislators to make both the pipeline and energy alternatives a reality and ensure that new jobs go to Alaskans.

EDUCATION: The future of our state depends on a well-educated, well-trained workforce.  I will work to make education a priority and a long-term investment for Alaskans.  I support voluntary pre-kindergarten education, "forward funding" legislation for grades K-12, and strengthening the University of Alaska system.  We must make education a long-term investment for our citizens, from preschool to post-graduate and all the stages in between

ETHICS: I believe that honest, ethical leadership is the key to our state's continued growth. I will work hard to represent your interests in Juneau - good schools, a thriving economy, safe communities and responsible government.

OPEN AND RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT: Elected officials are responsible to the citizens of their state and, in particular, to the residents of their district. If elected, I will work to create a long-range fiscal plan that will benefit all Alaskans.

ABOUT ME

A fourth generation Alaskan, I was born and raised in Ketchikan. I have worked and lived in many areas of our state and have called Anchorage home since 1991. My work in law enforcement and corrections brought me into contact with many diverse personalities and interesting situations both compelling and tragic. I continue to find our state fascinating and full of potential.

I have always believed you need to be involved in your community, in whichever ways you can. I want to do what I can as your elected representative. I would appreciate your vote on November 2.
